This week, Zerua Tech attended JIEEC 2026, the International Conference on Electrical Grids, held at the B Accelerator Tower (BAT) in Bilbao, the same building that hosts our offices. Organized by EVE, Tecnalia and Orkestra, this edition brought together electricity companies, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, technology providers and public institutions around the theme of technologies at the service of the grid of the future for industrial electrification.
The program offered a broad and highly relevant view of the challenges ahead. It opened with the Grid4Industry project, within the Euskadi 2030 Industry Plan, and moved on to innovative designs for lines, substations and switchgear, advanced power electronics, and solutions for more resilient and sustainable networks. Digitalization took a central role throughout the day, with discussions on digitized substations, protection and control, cybersecurity and the growing use of Artificial Intelligence for a more efficient and secure operation of electrical networks. The conference closed with one of the great challenges of the energy system: the integration of storage and the increase of grid flexibility.
For Zerua Tech, the topics discussed were closely aligned with our own work. Our mission is to combine Artificial Intelligence with physics-based simulation and advanced optimization to solve complex engineering problems in sectors such as aerospace and maritime operations. As electrical networks become more digital, more distributed and more demanding, the need for fast, accurate and trustworthy computational tools grows with them. AI models that respect the underlying physics, accelerate demanding calculations and support better decisions in real time are exactly the kind of technologies that can help engineers operate and plan complex infrastructure with confidence.

JIEEC 2026 also confirmed a message that guides our daily work: the most valuable innovation happens at the intersection of disciplines. Hearing directly from utilities, manufacturers and research centers about their real operational constraints is a powerful reminder of where Deep Tech can make a difference, and it opens the door to future collaborations between technology companies, industry and the research ecosystem.
We would like to thank EVE, Tecnalia and Orkestra for organizing such a high-quality event, and for bringing it to BAT, a place that brings together much of the Basque innovation ecosystem. Zerua Tech will continue to participate actively in the forums where the future of engineering, energy and industry is being shaped, and to develop AI-driven technologies that turn complex physics into faster and better decisions.
