Zerua Tech S.L. (ZERUA TECH SOCIEDAD LIMITADA), NIF\CIF B56478795, is a startup company in Bilbao, SPAIN. We started our journey in October 2023, specialize in developing AI-based software solutions through the synergy of skilled professionals and efficient processes for engineering sectors involving satellite data and space technologies.

We are specialized in AI with strong background in satellite and space-related technologies. We are dedicated to turnkey solutions in the Basque Country of Spain. Our purpose is to enhance the position of Spain in the competing space and maritime clusters of Europe. On the general level, our main objective is to contribute to the strengthening of the technological clusters and the positioning of satellite-related activities in the national and international market. The goal is also to actively contribute to the training and education of professionals in the sector, including the promotion of expert training at all levels of the company by developing software and applications for space and maritime engineering. Research and development, along with designing high-end products are our main subject of activities. Among the leading industry players to design, develop and support AI-based systems, business, and missions, the company is to become an industry leader in AI solutions for engineering problems in Spain.

Spain in the Space Sector

With the space interests of several independent nations partly represented under the banner of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Union, there is less of a centralized and connected space program to speak of for Europe. France, Germany and Italy have sizable national space programs while Spain, as the other competing contributor to ESA, is a growing country in having a large domestic space program. The differences in strategic coordination and direction mean that European program tend to be neatly packaged one-off science missions, where budgets, although sizable, can be feasibly drawn from the contributions of member states.

A high frequency of high-profile science missions means that support often skews to the academic community and project roles are distributed according to national contributions, supporting national clusters of academic and engineering excellence. By having this viewpoint toward the current status of Spain in the space and maritime clusters of Europe, our perspective is that Spain has a great potential in becoming one of Europe's AI-SPACE technology leaders, while competing with other rival countries.

Motivation to Rise in Euskadi

Following the need for technological activities related to satellites in Spain, the original idea of establishing an AI-Space company was formed. The absence of identities working on the development of simulation software and applications for satellite-related projects such as space dynamics and control, and satellite data analysis is a noticeable fact, which comes to mind when the urge for competition in the Europeans space cluster becomes a priority. Moreover, the autonomous regions such as the Basque Country have a great potential for such activities due to lower strength of aerospace cluster in comparison to other autonomous communities in Spain.

Our mission is to represent the state of the art in the satellite-related industries, designing, developing, and maintaining AI applications for space and maritime systems, academic sector and space corporations. Ceaselessly pursuing research-led innovation and continuous product improvement, we aim to drive forward leading-edge AI solutions that ensure maximum efficiency in the industrial processes and distinction in the products and services that are offered to the clients. Following this concept, the mission can be identified as an objective to solve the most difficult and complex challenges in satellite-based technology, with state-of-the-art technological solutions, developed in the forefront of AI knowledge, by our top-level engineering team.
